Carol was away again today, so we switched things up a bit. We are all such veteran hikers on these Thursday morning hikes that we can all just about do the trails in the dark - - without headlamps! With that in mind, and since Larry looked so good with his recent haircut, I asked him to lead the way while I swept up everyone's dust. I think we have the makings of a new trip leader here! Larry's pace was steady and strong, he took ample water breaks, he made sure the group descended safely down a steep slope, and he got us back exactly at 12:30 pm. I couldn't have done better myself! If we discount Mikey's probably-more-accurate GPS time piece, several members clocked in 5.4 miles. This seems consistent with past hikes, especially since we rejected the warm-up hill in favor of doing the entire lollipop trail.  

It was nice to have Jack M. with us today. He's been ignoring us for quite a long time, but he's always welcome back when he can make it.

Come back, Carol! We miss you!
