Write Up:Heat, Heat, go away. Come again another day! Like in June of 2020!!! Today we celebrated David Schick's 300th hike with pictures and posters galore. Suzanne, Dan, Michelle and Bette were first up the warm up hill! We did go at a slower pace today as it was already in the mid 80's at start time and was to 94 degrees at finish time. We had two Davids, two Dans and two Steves on the hike and we had two individuals get stung by some angry bees (down by the river about 100 feet away from the first walkway). We stayed in the inner loops of Island Ford avoiding the lollipop trail and trying to stay in the shade. There was no breeze to be found so I'm not sure how much that would have helped, but fortunately, everyone came prepared with fluids. After the hike, about a dozen of us made our way to North River Tavern. Hope to see everyone next week when the forecast is promising much cooler conditions! ~ Carol
