Sat, Nov 9 2019 - Carpe Diem at Island Ford (Autumn Edition) (View Original Event Details)
|
Under a brilliant blue November sky we gathered, broke a sweat and traversed Island Ford. After a few miles of ups and downs, we landed on some river rocks and shared some words and imagery.
Merry Autumn! was the theme, and we gathered the roses while we may. We listened to original works by Rilke and Kilmer, as well as Frost and Ferguson (not Robert or Sir Samuel but different ones). We listened to the Byrds while watching water birds. We had a refresher course on the universe, complete with illustrations to remind us that we are tiny specks in a vast galaxy. So, dust if you must, but you'll find us outside if we have the chance. For after all...
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
