We were happy to get our hike in before today's rains come in later today. Though the air was cool, we managed to work up a sweat so that layers were peeled off shortly into the hike. 

It's sad to see so much of the area strewn with the remains of dead pine trees, destroyed by a pine beetle infestation.

We looped around the entire middle section of the unit after which we hit the gravel trail, walking to the bridge and then cutting across to the riverside trail. From there, we hiked along the river back to the parking lot. According to several GPS devices, we covered at least 5.7 miles in just over 2 hours . . . a good pace for our fit group!
