Write Up:What a beautiful day for a hike around the rock! Our hearty group of 6 hikers didn't let the chilly temperatures stop us. Golden leafy trails, blue skies, and views of each shoulder of the big stone were our reward. We began our hike at the walk-up trail and took the orange blazed connector trail to the green Nature Trail then connected to the white Cherokee Trail until we reached the covered bridge. There we crossed to King's Island and took the purple blazed loop until we arrived at the bridge crossing again. From there we followed the white blazes until we reached to carved side and took a moment to watch the snowmaker spitting out ice in preparation for the annual Snow Mountain attraction, then finished back at our starting point right on time. Thanks to everyone for being a happy, fun and capable group for my first co-lead hike with Joyce T.
