A new trail is always exciting for our members, so today was an exciting hike, new to everyone who participated (except for the TL). We hiked for 2 hours and completed the loop, hiking over 5 miles on mildly rolling bike trails. And we had the trails to ourselves, seeing just two people on foot and not a single bicycle. Added amenities were the beautiful, paved parking lot, the two large, fenced dog areas, a pretty little playground, and a warm bathroom. Other than the long drive up to Ackworth, there was nothing to criticize about the park.

The weather looked rather dismal last night, with a forecast of rain througout the night and into the morning. The 40% dwindled to 25% and then to 15%, but we didn't have a drop during the hike, and the trails themselves were dry.

I think Turtle Back Loop deserves to become a more frequent trail for our Beginners Welcome hikes. ~ Joyce
