Thu, Nov 14 2019 - Sweetwater W-O-Y Ramble (View Original Event Details)
|
Four folks including the Suzanne and Dave, and recent AOC member Corinne, had a brisk Figure 8 Tour of Sweetwater. We started with the White Loop, with a quick visit to the unmarked cemetary. Dave got his eagle eyes roaming for some majestic beech trees, and was amply rewarded along Jack's Creek, and along the creek below the cave, including the biggest one that is on stilts, photo included. Suzanne lightly charged up Jack's hill to the cabin ruins, and Corinne was rewarded with a good tour on her first visit to Sweetwater, and quickly scrambled across the red trail, as well as a circuit on the East side.
Although it was a gray and chilly day, we had a great ramble and lots of good company. Thanks to everyone for great company and eager sharing of the kissing trees, the Gecko Tree, River Rush Corner, and now the Stilted Beech.
