The weather was a bit threatening before our hike but the skies cleared and we had wonderful weather for our hike at Gold Branch. We started by first climbing up to the ridgeline and then started a series of descents and climbs between the Chattahoochee River and the ridgeline.  The trails were challenging with the rains from the night before but we took our time and were able to safely complete our planned hike without incident.  We saw a blue heron and a few deer during our hike as we moved clockwise around Gold Branch.  One last descent and we were back at the parking lot and the end of our 5 mile hike.  

A special welcome to a couple of our hikers today.  Jill E was on her 5th AOC event and Aleta W was on her very first event with the club.  Welcome to both of you and we look forward to seeing you on future AOC events.  ~ Holt
