We started with 20 people plus a long waiting list, but because of the rain this morning, we were reduce to just 9 participants! Those who dropped should feel justified, because it rained for the entire time . . . just a mild drizzle for most of the hike, but a steady rain for the remainder. However, we were prepared for rain, and we thoroughly enjoyed the 5+ miles we got in before heading to lunch at the North River Tavern.

We had two D-zeros join us for lunch where we enjoyed free onion ring appetizers supplied by Chris, the manager of the North River Tavern.  
And the new monthly burger special is something to behold. No one was able to consume the whole thing at lunchtime. Think of two melted cheese sandwiches enclosing a half-pound burger. Wow! ~ Joyce
