We had a great group for today's hike at West Palisades.  The group kept together in spite of our rather brisk nearly 3 MPH pace.  We visited all corners of this CRNRA unit and the hike included two visits down to the river level and three good climbs from river level to ridge tops.  On our last visit to the Chattahoochee, we visited the beach area where we viewed the observation deck and bamboo forest at East Palisades unit which is directly across the river from West Palisades.  After one last climb, we reached the parking lot and our cars, ending our 6 mile, 800 foot gain hike in a little over 2 hours.  Happy New Year!  ~ Holt
