Hiking is such a wonderful way to relieve the societal stresses we're all under because of COVID-19 (and the flu and allergies). We resisted our normal hugs and handshakes before the hike and kept some extra distance between ourselves in the pre-hike circle, but we were happy to be able to talk with each other as we made our way around the trails at West Palisades. 

Holt took over for a trek to the ruins which - - for those who went all the way down - - provided a very steep climb back up to the trail.

The chance of rain was moderate, but our luck held out, and enabling us to have a most pleasant hike. How nice to see the beginnings of springtime flowers and plants. Spring is upon us! ~ Joyce
