Well we had an interesting hike today at Sope Creek.  We took a variety of trails heading west through the  Sope Creek and into Cochran Shoals CRNRA unit.  Once we reached the furthest point in our hike, the rain started, light at first, heavier later.  We hightailed it back towards the cars, taking every shortcut I knew of.  We still got wet but had a great, albeit shorter than planned hike. With our fast pace back to the parking lot, we ended up covering 4.2 miles in a little over 1:30 hours.  A special shout out to Michelle for her snake dance when we encountered a rather large black snake in the trail on the way back to the cars.  Pretty sure the snake was more scared than Michelle.  ~ Holt
