It was a day to celebrate - - Steve F.'s 500th AOC event! In addition to his commemorative rock and bandana, Gerrilyn brought flowers for us to wear in our hair (reminiscent of the hippy days in San Francisco) in honor of Steve's past flower-child days.  

Instead of going UP the warm-up hill, we went down - - and witnessed the exciting tie finish to the bottom (Michelle and Russ). It was a battle to watch!

We saw lots of AOC friends on the trails today - - Jeff G., Dan C., Mikey, David P., Barry P., Larry S., Tracy, and Regina! Plus, Susan F. came by after the hike to congratulate Steve.

Lots of folks went to lunch after the hike at Samad's, where we all sat outside in the fresh air. Besides the Mediterranean food, we enjoyed the chocolate brownies Steve made for his celebration. ~ Joyce
