We got to meet a new AOC member this morning - - Jeff - - who fit in perfectly with the group after passing the test of the warm-up hill! He didn't whine at all, which made him an instant member of the Thursday morning family.

Speaking of the warm-up hill, Pink Shorts (aka Dan C.) made it up the hill first, hardly breaking a sweat as he made his way to the top. He is proof of the famous saying, "Pink shorts do not define a man!" And the guys all learned a new color - - "fuchsia" (though admittedly, Dan C. already knew it.) (See Michelle's shoes.)

This was probably the hottest hike we've endured so far this summer. We clocked in 5.5 miles, but it wasn't easy. We were all drenched by the time we returned to the parking lot.  

We passed the Renegade Guys on the lollipop loop; always a true pleasure to see their faces. Their group and sevenl of ours enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the sidewalk outside Samad's Mediterranean Grill after the hike. ~ Joyce
