Write Up:Redemption! After doing a barely mediocre job of map reading on Saturday's hike at Chattahoochee Bend, today was perfect! We made it around the outer loop and the inner loop, facing bike traffic and taking all the right turns on the winding trail. The trail map, posted at the beginning of the outer loop, has little white dots on it. I discovered what those dots mean! They mark 1/10 trail distance, and they correspond to the blue tree tags that have number going from 1 to over 50. It was very easy to tell that we went close to 5.5 miles today! Following those numbered blazes would be a good way to know you were going in the right direction on the trails.
This was a special day. Ellie H. completed her 100th AOC event today! It might have taken her four years to do it, but the important thing is that she did it! Now on to 200! ~ Joyce
