It was a last minute posting and early in the morning, but 5 eager hikers joined me this morning for a 4.8 mile jaunt through the trails at West Palisades. We did a bit of a different route, hiking all the way to the main parking lot, hiking back up the long, steep trail, and adding a bit of exploration into the condominium (apartment?) complex at the end of the asphalt path. (We weren't able to identify the name of the complex.) Both Lee and Jennifer got a taste of leading the group as we returned to the parking lot. (A sneaky way to recruit new trip leaders!)

The 40% chance of rain in the forecast for this morning totally evaporated by the time of our hike, leaving us with high humidity but a bearable temperature still in the 80's during our hike. 

It was great to have Vera with us this morning! Her smiling face has been missed on hikes for the last month or so.

Lee took a photo which I added to the album. It makes me jealous. His phone takes way better pictures than my camera! ~ Joyce
