We hiked over 7 miles this morning, following Russ as he led us around both Vickery Creek and the trail across the creek at Allenbrook. We could have ended 20 minutes early, but Russ wanted to give us our money's worth, so we hiked an additional half mile, finishing right at 12:30.

The pace was brisk but not punishing. And we had time to pause for pictures of the Great Blue Heron fishing for its breakfast. There was even a deer sighting, but getting a picture of it was challenging.

Pete and Agnes were new to Vickery Creek, so the dam was exciting for them to see. ~ Joyce
