Beautiful Autumn day on the trail. With threatening weather reports, the number of hikers on this dwindled to three. However, those who joined were rewarded with a great day, awesome views and low crowds. One wrinkle, Hale Ridge Road was closed due to a wash out, so we needed to park about two miles from the trailhead. Making a nice road walk among the striking fall colors also added four unexpected miles. Therefore, after Rabun Bald and Flint Knob the group decided not to go to Flat Top as originally planned. Not a big problem, flexibility made it different but no less fun and interesting. Great group, great hike!
