Mon, Oct 12 2020 - Monday Morning at Simpsonwood Park (View Original Event Details)
|
I don't recall ever hiking through more mud than we had today at Simpsonwood . . . and to rub salt into the muddy wound, we had a 15 minute rain shower at the beginning of our hike that assured the trails wouldn't have dried out at all. I was very impressed that not a single member of our group complained about the rain, despite none of us having a bit of rain gear. Even Gary left behind his rain-security umbrella!
John did his usual excellent job of guiding us through the unknown trails at the park, getting us back to our cars right on time. I can't wait for him to be able to get his TL training so he can be official. He's already getting a lot of leadership experience!
We saw just one deer, but plenty of mushrooms and even a turtle. Thanks to Dan C. and Lee for their photos which are included in the album. ~ Joyce
