With a 9:00 am start and the temperature in the low 40’s parking spaces were tight. Another group with 27 hikers had also scheduled a hike at the same time. Fortunately, all ten of us were able to get parking spaces. After talking to the leader of the other group I found out that both groups were starting at 9:00 am and hiking the outer loop clockwise. We did introductions at the start of the trail head to avoid the other group and I announced that we would follow the outer loop trail in a counterclockwise direction to avoid the other group. The temperatures warmed up quickly and were in the mid 50’s two hours later.
I would like to recognize Lisa on her first their first hike and Laura on her fourth hike. Thanks to the rest of the group for making them feel part of our club.
Thanks to Diana we recognized Aaron for his 300th hike with, following Joyce’s lead, with a rock, man sized, commemorating the event (see pictures).
