How lucky we were that the heavy rain from last night was completely gone by the time our hike started. The wind was strong, but the sun shone brightly so that Dan even peeled down to his short sleeves during the hike, and Gary was quite comfortable in his shorts.

I wasn't going to cancel this hike no matter what, because it was Jeff's 400th AOC event, and it deserved a celebration. We were all delighted to honor him today.

A lot of trail work was evident on our 5.5 mile loop, and there was even a brand new bridge across a creek. Plenty of historical items to please the Civil War buffs on this trail. ~ Joyce
