Due to a couple of late drops, folks on the waiting list weren't able to make the hike, so we ended up with a very friendly group of 8 this morning. So sorry we had to leave folks at home on this beautiful morning
We did a little exploring on our hike, after Michelle pointed out a trail we had never seen before. We enjoyed seeing something new - - a "lagoon" (a.k.a. pond) with a beautifully graveled path around it. We hiked around the water and then did a little exploratory jaunt to reach the upper parking lot. There's a photo of Jennifer rejoicing that we found our way back to the park!
The air at the beginning of our hike was pretty cold, made colder by the strong breeze we had. But true to form, we soon warmed comfortably and even had Russ in short sleeves by the end of the 5.7 mile hike.
Michelle made it first to the top of the warm-up hill. No surprise there! ~ Joyce
