Write Up:Absolutely beautiful day at Red Top Mountain State Park - not a bit of wind, lots of sunshine - we hiked somewhere between 8.7 and 9.4 miles depending on who you ask - Helena did a bit more as she had to double back a short distance to find her hiking poles. We came in about 15 min later than I had planned on but nobody seemed to mind - there was no rush for anybody to get home. we hiked the complete Iron Hill Trail, part of the Sweet Gum Trail and some of the Homestead Trail. Visited the old iron mine. Checked out the new visitor's center. Saw quite a few deer but they took off when they saw us but we saw their little white tails running away. Check out photos that were all provided by Lee W. Thanks Lee. Steve was able to keep me from making any wrong turns as he is very famliar with the trails - thanks Steve. Lee and Shirley shared their delicious Chinese style beef jerky with all.
