Sat, Mar 27 2021 - Developmental Pigeon Hill Up & Down 4X from Burnt Hickory (View Original Event Details)
|
Weather forecast had rain for beginning of the hike hike. Once again, we were about 0.33 miles from the parking lot on the fourth trip when a heavy mist started. We decided against the option fifth trip due to the rocks coming down Pigeon Hill starting to get slick. It was not a bad day for a short hike.
Summary of the four trips with overall total:
All trips were 0.81 miles starting at the beginning of the trail going up Pigeon Hill from the Pigeon Hill side of Burnt Hickory Road and ending at the same place and an accent elevation change of 220 feet per trip.
1st Trip 2.18 mph
2nd Trip 2.34 mph
3rd Trip 2.49 mph
4th Trip 2.37 mph
Average 4 trips included me starting and stopping phone between trips 2.23 mph.
Unfortunately with only two of us, the sample size is not big enough to give me a better feel for how a group would handle this.
