Changing the time for today's hike to the afternoon proved to be a good decision. By 2 pm, the rain had cleared out and the sun was shining . . . and the strong 20 mph breezes not only helped to dry the trails, but they made delightfully refreshing moments to cool us off.

Russ and David V. tied for first place up the warm-up hill today. They couldn't stand to let Jan and Jean beat them to the top!

We were happy to see Dan C. hiking with the renegades today after being off the trails for over a month. Mikey, Dan R. and Dan C. made a friendly threesome for their hike.

There were lots of plants blooming in the park: trillium, blood root, May apples, and buckeye were some of the plants we recognized.

Due to the time, we had to turn around when we got to the lollipop loop, so Jean took the lead, keeping a strong pace all the way back to the parking lot. I'm excited for her successful completion of 2 co-leads in her Potential Trip Leader process. One more and she'll be read for her solos! ~ Joyce
