Beautiful day with four of us hiking the Smokey’s didn't disappoint. Kephart Prong to Charlie’s Bunion and then Boulevard trail over to Mount LeConte. Long day, 25ish miles and 6k+ elevation gain. Chilly wind was blowing, but no rain and the sky’s offered some great views from both the Bunion and Myrtle Point on top of LeConte. There were a lot of hikers out both at the LeConte Lodge coming up via Alum Cave and on the AT coming from Newfound Gap. We also had lunch at the Icewater Spring Shelter and met a number of thru hikers there. We took our time, enjoying the journey and this ended up finishing with headlamps in the dark. Tired, but highly worthwhile day in the mountains!
