The day couldn't have gone better! We were delayed starting our hike because 6 renegades came to greet out group. (Dan R., Mikey, Larry, Steve F., and Steve Sams). Five of them joined us for our lunch celebration, as did Jeff G., so we ultimately had 21 people at lunch! What a great gathering!

Four originals were on today's hike - - members who were on our very first Thursday morning hike 7 years ago: Mike Collins, Suzanne, Doug H., and Joyce. Mike was between out-of-town travels, so it was lucky that we were able to have him join us!

The hike was good - - about 5.5 miles with temperatures a little cooler than earlier in the week.

We had a bit of a scare during the hike. I called the NRT to warn Chris, the manager, that we had a large group coming for lunch only to learn that the restaurant was closed due to a water problem. How fortunate we were that Chris called at noon to tell us that the water was back on and that he would reserve us space on the patio.

We celebrated with a 7th Year sheet cake from Publix, which everyone said was delicious. There was just one large piece left, which we gave to Selena, our waitress.

This was truly a wonderful celebration for all of us. ~ Joyce
