It was a lovely hike! We covered several of the hills inside the park and completed the perimeter as well, giving us a 5 mile hike in just over 2 hours. We were delayed a bit by a group of elderly gentlemen who were assisting one of their members who was having "a dizzy spell." They were helping to hold him up, and insisted these episodes had happened before. We tried mightily to convince them to call 911, but they said they were okay. The dizzy guy didn't look good, and they were a long way from the trailhead. We tried . . . .
There were lots of turtles out on logs today, as well as geese and ducks enjoying the sunny day. No snakes, which pleased many in our group.
The old 1964 Mercury Comet is still in place, though it's a shell of its former self.
We were lucky in finding ample parking spaces in the lot this morning! ~ Joyce
