Well we had a great turn out for a Super Last Minute Hike at Johnson Ferry North/ Hyde Farm today with 14 participants.  As I had advertised ahead of the hike, the trails were muddy and wet but I was not able to run anyone off.  We traveled first along the Chattahoochee River before we to to Mulberry Creek where the real fun began.  With active pipeline construction in the area churning the trail into a mess of about 8 inches of mud, we had to make a few adjustments to bypass the worst of the construction which necessitated a short bushwhack.  But we all survived with with minimal issues other than some muddy and wet boots. 

We made our way up Mulberry Creek, crossing it perhaps 10 times and circled the lake at Hyde Farm.  Then we headed down the hill towards the river before one last, steep climb back to the ridge top.  One more descent and we headed back to the parking lot and the end of our hike.  We clocked about 5 miles and returned to the cars with exactly the same number we started with.  Yea!  ~ Holt
