Today's hike at Pine Mountain was a bit harder than I expected.

We did 9+ miles, four hours - lots of ups - Mike C. says we did 2300 feet elevation, not so many downs.  A pretty steady rain the last mile or so.  When we got to the scenic overlook at the top of Pine Mountain could not see a thing, we were up in the clouds/fog.  

We took the west loop to the overlook, then the connector trail and down to Coopers Furnace. Then we took trail up to the overlook at the dam, then the Laurel Ridge Trail back to the Connector and then the east loop back to the parking lot.  we ran into the Mushroom Club of Georgia - about 15 people all with baskets and looking for mushrooms.  I asked one of the members what he had in his basket and he rattled off a lot of scientific sounding names.
