It was a perfect morning for a hike . . . bright skies, clear water, cool air . . . all combined with a great group of hikers. It was nice to have a brand new member with us - - Rachel - - who was brought by her friend, Stephanie, a new member herself! Rachel brought a new canine friend, Annie, who did really well on the trails.

We saw a Great Blue Heron, lots of ducks, a deer, and a large Joro spider, though the deer and the spider evaded my lens.

The trails at Gold Branch are ultra-technical with all the roots, rocks, and holes on the trails. It's definitely not a good hiking trail for beginners who are not sure-footed.
