The morning started sunny with temperature in the high 20’s and ending with temperature in the high 40’s. We started at a faster pace to stay warm. We proceeded according to the plan stopping from time to time to talk about this section of the park. Several of the members had never hike the southern trails. We did encounter a daffodil in bloom by the Illinois Monument and ice on the trail and on some of the bridges.
