We enjoyed the cooler, though not exactly cool, temps of the early morning. There had been heavy storms the night before. This made for some mud and a couple of slippery spots, not to mention the many creek crossings, all of which kept us on our toes. Thankfully, nobody took a spill. We spied a deer, hiked through wet grass, and enjoyed Black-eyed Susans.

We welcomed 3 first-time AOC hikers, John, Gretchen, and Lauri.
