Early morning start yielded lots of wildlife sightings. Herons and all other sorts of waterfowl were plentiful. We even saw a deer jump into the water and swim to an island in the Chattahoochee. That was a first for me. We covered 7 miles and saw an elevation gain of 960ft. in a little over 2 hours.
We were the first out at Gold Branch and that meant lots of spider webs. As trip leader, I happily led the way and walked through countless webs. Great group. Nice pace. Thanks for joining me. Welcome relative newcomer Nancy. A nice addition to AOC.
