We met in spite of a 30% chance of rain and managed to enjoy a fabulous 10 mile hike with nary a drop. Very few hikers on the trail - we encountered a couple of backpackers as well as a charming family with 3 little girls out testing their trail mettle. The overcast weather brought a break from the heat and a peaceful lunch stop on Blood Mountain was complimented by a spell of blue sky so we could admire the view. A beautiful day outdoors
