The new year brings out new hikers to the AOC. Julie and Doreen joined us on their very first AOC hike. Temperature was mild though we saw no sun today. We made our way through the connector and nature trails to pick up the Cherokee Trail. This took us to the Songbird Habitat trails where our forest bath began. We heard a number of birds and saw (I think) a hawk fly through - and of course some deer were present. I always enjoy taking time to really look at the variety of trees in the various stages of their lives. The meadow trail is lovely even in the winter. I hope to do this event again and just spend more there bathing in the forest.
