Fri, Dec 30 2022 - Kennesaw Mountain Noses Creek Plus (View Original Event Details)
|
With warmer temperatures, conditions were good for a hike of this type. We did introductions and started the hike. Starting from the Pigeon Hill Parking Lot we headed down the Noses Creek Trail until it met the Hardage Mill Trail. We followed the Hardage Mill Trail until it again met the Noses Creek Trail. Following the Noses Creek Trail to the New Salem Church Trail. The New Salem Church Trail is closed at Burnt Hickory Road due to construction of the multiuse sidewalk by Cobb County. We stopped looked at the construction that has be started by the Park on the Reroute of the New Salem Church Trail. We turned around hiking back to the Noses Creek Trail, crossed Burnt Hickory Road, headed up Little Kennesaw Mountain Trail until it met the Pigeon Hill Cutoff Trail, stopping to look once again at the construction of this side of the reroute of the New Salem Church Trail following it to the New Salem Church Trail. We followed the New Salem Church Trail to Burnt Hickory Road, stopped and looked at where it is closed and return to the Pigeon Hill Parking Lot the way we came for a total of 6.56 miles in 2 hrs. 33 mins or a 2.6 mph pace. The Park is planning to have this done by the end of March. I will have more on this in the coming months, also see my Volunteer Event for January 14, (weather permitting) for more information.
