Yay!! Sue finished her 1000th AOC event today - - the first to do it while working full time! Sue estimates that she averaged 1.7 hikes/year for eleven years to achieve this milestone. Commendable, for sure!

Our morning was perfect with beautiful weather and a great hike from Helen to the Unicoi Visitor Center and back. We stopped for 45 minutes at the Visitor Center to take in the Art Festival displays, way too little time to really get it all in.

Because of parking issues, we weren't able to celebrate the special day before our hike, but all of us gathered in a parking lot following our hike to enjoy some refreshments, take photos, and to award Sue her commemorative rock.

Congratulations, Sue! Only the 4th member to reach the 1000th hike milestone! ~ Joyce
