We set out at a quicker pace than realized, finishing the first mile in under 18 minutes. Everyone was keeping up, but we backed off on the pace just a little since the speed was supposed to be moderate. We mostly walked the flat areas on the hilltops, but there was some climbing involved. We finished up just as the first raindrops fell.
