Fri, Mar 31 2023 - ...Out Like a Lamb. Sunrise and Cherokee Trail (View Original Event Details)
|
I really love hiking in small groups, and this one did not disappoint. The five of us managed to drag ourselves out of bed to meet in the darkness, and hike up to catch the sunrise from on top of Stone Mountain. It was a beautiful sunrise and a gorgeous day. Breezy at the top, as usual, but calm and balmy down below as we circled the mountain on the Cherokee Trail.
The smaller group size allowed time for all of us to immerse ourselves in some meaningful conversations and share a laugh or two. We heard birds chattering away in their dawn chorus, saw several small herds of deer, and marveled at the spring blossoms on the trees and at our feet. All in all, it was a fabulous morning with excellent company to close out March.
