Thu, Jun 8 2023 - Thursday Morning Semi-Fitness Hike at Island Ford (View Original Event Details)
|
We were lucky to have a bit of a cooler morning for our hike, with temperatures staying in the mid-70's. With the cooler air, we were able to keep up our brisk pace so that we got in 5.7 miles this morning. The group was great! We didn't have to hold up the group to wait for anyone today.
Russ and I were in front as we started up the warm-up hill, and no one challenged us . . . so we tied for first place! (That was my first win in 9 years!)
We saw the renegades both in the parking lot and on the trails today. Plus, we saw Trevor and Drew on the lollipop trail!
We saw a car in the lot when we arrived with the passenger door open and the windows down . . . but no one in our group owned the car, even though it had an Atlanta Outdoor Club magnet on it. Russ closed the open door, which was a good thing to do. When we finished our hike, I called Drew to ask if that might be his car in the lot. He said it was, so the mystery of the car was solved. Tsk, tsk, Trevor . . . you left your door wide open. You must have been anxious to hike!
Thanks to Lee for the photos he took which I've added to the album. ~ Joyce
