I think Laura was pleased with the celebration in her honor this morning - - for her first centennial AOC event! We started the hike at Johnson Ferry North at 9 am, before the heat of the day. We could feel the air heating up during our hike, but we were able to stay mostly in the shade, and we occasionally caught a delightful breeze.

Construction really wasn't much of an obstacle for us. A section of the main trail is closed off, but there's a path around it. We hiked along Mulberry Creek to Hyde Farm, had a short bathroom break there, and continued our trek to the Morgan Falls Dam. On our return, we did a combination of woodsy trails and the main trail. The pace was comfortable, and we got in just over 5 miles before returning to the parking lot to enjoy some celebratory treats.
