Although the beginning of our hike was rather warm, things really heated up uncomfortably by the last mile of our hike. Despite the heat and humidity, the group was fantastic. No stragglers. And we kept up a fast pace, ending with over 5.6 miles. I'm so proud of this group!

Bette, fresh from her trip with the AOC group to Croatia, was first up the warm-up hill! There was some hefty hiking on that trip, so she was strong today.

We saw a doe with its fawns during the hike, and we encountered a huge downed tree that completely blocked the trail on the lollipop loop.
