Meeting at the field at the end of the Pigeon Hill parking lot, we reviewed the safety rules and talked about the workplan. We followed the new Multi-Use Sidewalk along Burnt Hickory Road to the place where the new trail crosses Burnt Hickory Road. It was a group of 7 volunteers plus crew leaders. We headed south to where the new trail meets the old trail. One group started trashing out the two social trails that were being used while the new trail was being built. We used timber carriers to do this. The rest of us started adding the finishing touches to the trail. This included deberming the sides and leveling the trail where the Bobcats that had driven over it. We added rocks to slow the water along the new conduits that were installed. After finishing the south side, we moved to the north side of Burnt Hickory Road. The park still has five and a half loads of crush & run to put on the trail here. We did the same project with rocks by the conduits that we had done earlier.
