It was humid as we started the hike and just as bad by the end. We did introductions in the parking lot. This was the first time I have led this hike since before the park closed the New Salem Church Trail. We followed the Noses Creek Trail to the Hardage Mill Trail until the Hardage Mill Tail met the Noses Creek Tail by Whitlock Road. We crossed Whitlock Road, took the Cease Fire Trial to the intersection of the Old John Ward Trail, and returned to Whitlock Road. We crossed Whitlock Road and followed the Noses Creek Trail to the New Salem Church Trail. We followed the original New Salem Church Trail to the point where the reroute of the trail started. We took the rerouted New Salem Church Trail to the Pigeon Hill Cutoff Trail, followed it to Little Kennesaw Mountain Trail, and returned to the parking lot. This loop is 5.1 miles.
