What a fine celebration it was to honor Dan R. for reaching his 600th AOC event! Dan's Renegade buddies came for their Island Ford hike early, just so they could greet him and then join us at noon after our two groups hiked. It was such a special morning, because we also saw David V.'s group (who started hiking at 7:30 am), and Gerrilyn's group (who started their hike at 8:00 am). There were so many AOC members in the park today, but all of us are good friends, and there was no competition among the participants on any of the hikes.

Most of us agreed that today's hike was the most challenging due to the weather. We started, as usual, with the warmup hill, and we were all sweating by the time we got to the top. Congratulations to David W. for being first to the top . . . no surprise! Up to today, he's been undefeated as first to the top! Gary was right on David's heels (#2) and Staci right behind him (#3).

I'm so proud of today's group, keeping up the pace despite the high heat and humidity. They were tough!
