Tue, Aug 8 2023 - Morning Hike from Riverside Park to Don White Park (View Original Event Details)
|
We met briefly by the restrooms to do introductions. As we started the hike, we could not help but notice three Roswell Motorcycle Police Officers watching for speeders. As we passed the third, we slowed down a bit to keep under the speed limit and have a quick conversation with him. We headed toward Don White Park, going by the Volleyball Courts to stop and enjoy the first three Pathways Art pieces. We followed the sidewalk until it came to the trail by the river. We took it until it ended by Martins Landings Tennis Courts. We followed the sidewalk to the second entrance to Martins Landing, we turned around, following the sidewalk to where the Pathways Art started again. Once again, we slowed down and enjoyed the remaining ten pieces of artwork. We then picked up speed and returned to the parking lot.
Congratulations to Dolores for doing 4.4 miles at a 2.2 mph pace. And her first time on a trail for part of the hike since February.
And thanks to Lee and Shirley for the Swiss Chocolate.
I would like to thank Lisa for joining us on her fourth hike and thanks to the rest of the group for making our new member feel welcome.
