The ten of us welcomed the arrival of autumn with open arms and broad smiles. It was a colorful day, with big white fluffy clouds drifting across the cerulean sky. Fall wildflowers blossomed in bright purples, yellows and blues. Galax, ferns, and grasses provided various shades of green. And some of the trees are just starting to change, providing a carpet of red, yellow, orange and brown leaves beneath our feet.
We encountered a few challenges along the way... but as we hikers do, we pulled together and overcame the obstacles in our path. We wrapped up a wonderful day by all finishing together back at the parking lot, with warm goodbyes and "see ya next time."
