How wonderful it felt to be back with my Thursday morning peeps on our brisk hike at Island Ford. Despite the wet trails (which actually were in great shape), we got in 5.5 miles this morning. Sadly, the rain scared away some of our regulars, but hiking conditions were really wonderful. The rain had stopped at least an hour before, and we had mild temperatures and a really refreshing breeze. Susan and I shared the lead during the hike, and we both kept up the pace. The group stayed with us.

Congratulations to Marina who was proudly first up the warm-up hill. And congratulations to Mike C. for getting safely under the large tree branch just before it fell on the trail.

The group tolerated my photo-taking after their reprieve from photos while Susan covered the hike for me. I really enjoy looking back at the pictures and I appreciate the folks for allowing me to be so bothersome. (Sadly, no photos from Lee today, who wasn't on the hike.)
