After introductions in the Bowmans Island parking lot, we headed toward the Bowmans Island Trail. We hiked south along the Chattahoochee River, eventually coming to the new bridge the Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy (CNCC) said cost $96,000. As we passed the Buford Trout Hatchery, they were opening the gates. We decided to take a tour. We asked the gentleman that us in why they had put a roof and fencing around the trout ponds. He said the Heron were eating about 1,000 fish. We returned to the parking lot, took a brief break to delayer, and use the restrooms, we then headed for Laurel Ridge Trail, we crossed the bridge below Buford Dam and started hiking on the Laurel Ridge Trail. A stop at Lower Overlook Park to enjoy the views and back around toward the Chattahoochee River. We returned to the parking lot the way we came. Lake Lanier appeared very low. Look at the pictures of the water level on the lakeside of Buford Dam.
